Country in the Country 20120819

It's Country in the Country for Sunday, August 19, 2012.

It's the penultimate "Country in the Country" of the Summer. No, that doesn't mean a fine writing implement. It means second-to-last. So we may go out with a bang, but tonight might be more of a whimper. Among the Country Yossi music featured in Hour One: "Is This the Way to Monticello" by Marc Hoffman and the Bungaloafers,

and "These I Remember"  and "Aleh Yiden" by Country Yossi and the Shteeble-Hoppers.
Kicking off Hour Two, we heard Country Yossi and the Shteeble-Hoppers' "Rav Shmuel and the Myrtle Twig."
Then Dov Shurin popped in for a visit with the latest news from Israel. After some phone calls, we enjoyed a little "Chicken Soup."
Shortly thereafter we heard the straining stirs the stirring strains of "Shabbos Goy."
Then Rabbi Moshe Meir Weiss gave us a call and shared one of his biggest hang-ups. Join us next week for the tear-filled final "Country in the Country" of the Summer Season. It'll be filled with the tears of those listeners who hoped this week's was the last show. See you then!
