The Country Yossi Show 20120320

It's The Country Yossi Show for Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

Country Yossi kicked things off tonight with a brief recap of yesterday's "A Jewish Star" international singing competition. Next, he waxed eloquent with tips on shopping and financial planning, reviewed his checkered employment history, and gave us the business about business. Then it was time for a little Country Yossi Music, for all your pre-Pesach needs: "The Little Old Lady Named Pessy Deena."
After that, Rabbi Avrumy Jordan from the Gateways Organization checked in to tell us what they have in store for their Gateways Pesach Retreat · Friday, April 6th - Motzei Shabbos April 14th 2012 · Hilton Hotel, Stamford, CT. Learn more at http://gatewayspesach.org/. Dov Shurin had the nerve to show his face and deliver the latest news from Israel, this time from Boro Park. And finally, Country Yossi took a moment to remind us about the fine work Beth Shifra is doing to make sure everyone has a chance to celebrate Pesach, and how you can help. Find out more at http://www.bethshifra.org/.
We also got another taste of the title track of Yaakov Shwekey's new CD, Cry No More.

And if radio had pictures, it would look like this:
And in between all of that we managed to squeeze in some of your calls, and crown some Grand Prize Winners! And speaking of Pesach, next week is the annual Country Yossi Show pre-Pesach spectacular, where we turn the (chometz-free) tables and let you ask the shailes, provided they're about Pesadich drugs, cosmetics, foods and housewares.

The Country Yossi Show 20120313

It's The Country Yossi Show for Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

To kick off tonight's festivities, Country Yossi had all the answers. We just don't know what's the question. Next up a little Country Yossi Music: "The Cover of the Jewish Press."
And then it was on to your phone calls.
We stopped only briefly to hear the latest news from Israel with Dov Shurin, and the earliest Rosh Chodesh Bentsching with Yossi's father.
And it's our last chance to remind you that Country Yossi will be the emcee for the "A Jewish Star" international singing competion. Join him and judges Avraham Fried, Mendy Pellin, Eli Gerstner and Yossi Green for a one of a kind concert at Brooklyn College this Monday, March 19th, which will feature performances by all the semi finalists before both the adult and child winner will be named. The Country Yossi Show 20120306

It's The Country Yossi Show for Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

Tonight's Country Yossi Show is brought to you by the letter פ, or in English, the letter "P." "P" is for Pre-Purim, which is the theme of tonight's broadcast. "P" is also for Political, as in the political shtik in at the top of tonight's monologue and the topical comedy bits from Shimmy Shtauber and Larry Gordon, and "P" is for Poking Fun, which Country Yossi did to himself and Heshy during the rest of the show's opening banter. We also heard the rare Yiddish version of Country Yossi and the Shteeble-Hoppers' "The Cholent Song."
And among  tonight's in-demand grand prizes was a copy of Rabbi Yehuda Winzelberg's spectacular new book:
Explore the beauty of Shabbos, from beginning to end, with ideas based on the Mishnah Brurah and other eminent Torah and Halachic classics. Complete with full length musical CD. We also had tickets for the "A Jewish Star" international singing competion, which Country Yossi will be emceeing.  Join him and  judges Avraham Fried, Mendy Pellin, Eli Gerstner and Yossi Green for a one of a kind concert at Brooklyn College on March 19th, which will feature performances by all the semi finalists before both the adult and child winner will be named. Learn more at AJewishStar.com. And what Country Yossi Show would be complete without a visit from Dov Shurin with the latest news from Israel? Certainly not this one! Until we meet again, ah freilichen Purim to you and yours. Please celebrate responsibly. We need every listener we can get!
