Now, on to the show! After reflecting on the past 25 years of the magazine. Country and Heshy looked back at the money they had 25 years ago. Then we enjoyed a little Country Yossi music: "Shteeble People."

Yossi and his callers traded some Pesach-themed shailes for some grand prizes, Dov Shurin phoned in with the latest news from Israel, and we had our monthly visit from Yossi's father with Rosh Chodesh Bentsching. Since he neglected to mention February birthday boys George Washington and Abe Lincoln last month, Country Yossi noticed their portraits in his wallet (one of each) and decided to rant about Banking. Then we had a little Country Yossi Music: "Rav Shmuel and the Myrtle Twig."

With Purim behind us and Pesach ahead, how about some Pesach-themed shailes? And hoo boy, did they break all the rules tonight! The Pesach issue of Country Yossi Family Magazine arrives Friday, March 15th, and we'll see you the Monday before that (that's next Monday to you and me). Get it? Got it? Good!

It's The Country Yossi Show for Monday, February 25, 2013.

It's the Shushan Purim Spectacular! And where did Yossi get that horrendous, terrifying mask? Oh, wait, he's not wearing a mask. My bad. In the name of levity, Yossi shared his thoughts on Lawyers and Hotels. Then we endured enjoyed some Country Yossi Music: "Moishe Shmeel."

The usual weekly volley of shailes came next, with a special Grand Prize of tickets to The Big CHAZAQ Event.

Before we knew it we heard from a very relaxed Dov Shurin with the latest news from Israel. And then a few more shailes just for good measure.

First things first: Country Yossi's always hilarious Purim issue hit the streets recently!  This year's National Yenta Purim parody has the Jewish Music industry in a tizzy! Check it out for yourselves:

Meanwhile, back on the radio: If you thought your apartment was bad, you've got nothing on Yossi! And not only that, it's The Economy, Stupid!

Next, we had our weekly dose of Country Yossi Music: "Sholom Ber."

Then the shailes came. Will Grand Prize Winners follow? I can't reveal that, but I can say, as a topical tribute to one of tonight's callers, we had some bonus Country Yossi music: "The Little Old Lady Named Pessy Deena."

After that, we heard from a little old man named Dov Shurin with the latest news from Israel.

And what would an Erev Purim show be without a few Purim Shailes? We had some, so we'll never know!

Finally, before we knew it, the show vanished faster than a plate of Hamantaschen.

There's no business like snow business, as Country Yossi and Heshy were quick to point out tonight. And they reminded us that, like a blizzard, the Purim edition of Country Yossi Family Magazine will blanket newsstands this coming Friday.

Then Yossi shared his thoughts on vacations, but unfortunately for us, he never actually left the studio. But we did get a bit of a respite, thanks to some Country Yossi Music: "Oh Yankel."

After a blizzard of Grand Prize Winners,  Dov Shurin phoned in with the latest news from Israel.

Then, like a mound of snow in a heat wave, the show was over almost soon as it began. Join us next week, won't you?

The boys are back! Heshy is back from Eretz Yisroel with a brief travelogue, and Yossi is back from parts unknown with some briefs that are in need of a washing. Then Yossi regaled us with a few tales from the home front. The fun continued with some Country Yossi music: "A Very Special Man."

Then the callers came barging in, including a Grand Prize Winner from way out of town! Then, before we could take the receiver off the hook, Dov Shurin called in with the latest news from Israel. And no month would be complete without hearing Rosh Chodesh bentching from chazzan Chaim Toiv ז״ל. Don't forget to look for the the Purim issue of Country Yossi Family Magazine on newsstands everywhere next Friday -- then lining birdcages everywhere next Monday.

It's The Country Yossi Show for Monday, January 14, 2013.


Country and Heshy started the show by shooting their mouths off about gun control. Tune in next week for the debut of their new point-counterpoint topical talk show: Hannity Yossi and Hesh Limbaugh. Then we learned that the building has been sold right out out from under out boys. So what better reason to kibitz about landlords? Who wants a little Country Yossi music? (we've  been asking ourselves that very question for years.) We heard "Nebich Of The Shteeble."

Then came a flood of calls of Biblical proportions, for 40 minutes and 40 seconds. Dov Shurin stepped in and parted the sea of calls long enough to deliver the latest news from Israel. Then came a plague of Country Yossi music: "The Little Old Lady Named Pessy Deena."

The boys even found time to give away some gevaldigeh Grand Prizes. And for our alter listeners, Great-Grand Prizes. Then the boys wrapped things up by kvetching about the weather, but not doing anything about it. Mark your calendar and join us next week. Or, if you use a really thick black marker you can totally obscure the date so you'll forget about it and do something more productive with your Monday evening.
