It's Country in the Country for Sunday, August 11, 2013.

Rebounding from a barrage of technical difficulties last week, Country Yossi promised that tonight would be better. And despite his presence, the last live show of the Summer didn't disappoint!

We kicked things off with a Country Yossi-style song parody: the Summer favorite (Podcaster's note: at least it's mine, since I wrote it) "Is This the Way to Monticello" by Marc Hoffman and the Bungaloafers.

Then Dov Shurin checked in with the latest news from Israel.

Next a call or two, followed by some Country Yossi Music: "I Will Follow Him" and "The Tiny Old Shteeble."

Also we heard the latest from New York City Council candidate David Storobin,

Up next, more Country Yossi Music:"Mitzvah Dance (The Wedding's Over)"

The excitement rolled on with a visit from Rabbi Chaim Prussman and the Beth Shifra report.

Tonight’s show was mercifully shortened by some strategically placed technical difficulties. But thanks to Country Yossi’s never-give-up spirit, the show did go on for a few spectacular moments. Here are the highlights. Don’t step away from the podcast or you might miss it entirely.

After sputtering to life with the playing of Country Yossi and the Shteeble-Hoppers' “Nebich Of The Shteeble….”

…we had an informative, inspiring and all-too-brief visit from Rabbi Moshe Meir Weiss and his gevaldigeh divrei torah.

…until suddenly Reb Moshe launched into his brilliant Marcel Marceau mime impression. Okay, we’re kidding. More technical difficulties reared their ugly heads.

And that’s when Country threw in the shmatteh for this week. Join us again next week when we make up for lost time, maybe with a special expanded edition. And after polishing off an entire pot of cholent, Country Yossi’s waistline will also appear in a special expanded edition!

The rain may have washed out some ball games, but it couldn't dampen Country Yossi's spirits!

He kicked things off with some Country Yossi music: "The Cover of the Jewish Press" and "Hello Mameh."

After a hitting the phones, and causing some minor damage, we enjoyed an informative chat with Allen Frishman, Seasonal Program and Community Consultant, who manages the Seasonal Demonstration Grant Program for Sullivan Renaissance, talking about the Battle of the Beautiful Camps and Bungalow Colonies! Sullivan Renaissance offers a limited number of matching reimbursement grants up to $2,500 for camps, bungalow colonies and seasonal businesses to enhance the appearance of their property as a demonstration and inspiration for others, but you'll have to pass Country Yossi's muster!

Next thing you know, Dov Shurin checked in with the latest news from Israel.

In keeping with the somber spirit of Erev Tisha B'Av, Country Yossi began with one of his own songs: The title track from his CD, "These I Remember."

Next up: Dov Shurin shared the latest news from Israel.

And then there was more than a hint of suspense as the internet stream kept wanting to gai shloofen. Who knows what happened then, but from the sound of the Before and After parts, it must have been spectacular! Apologies for the podcast getting a little choppy in the middle there.

But chaos returned to sanity with a visit from  Rabbi Moshe Meir Weiss and his spiritual words.

And of course, we had a generous helping of Grand Prize Winners. And a special shout-out to Eli from Melbourne, Australia, listening on the podcast!

Next, the flood of information continued as Country was joined by New York City Council Candidates David Storobin and Joseph Hayon to hear about their campaign platforms.

One more bit of a capella music followed from Chevra Acapella: "Mimkomcha."

And Country was giving out Grand Prizes like they were going out of style.
