Country Yossi himself wrote the lyrics to The Chevra's latest hit single, "I'm a Jew":

But not without the aural assault of a little Country Yossi Music: "Seven Little Kids," "Nebich Of The Shteeble," "The Little Old Lady Named Pessy Deena," and "Boro Park."

Our evening was enhanced with a visit from Rabbi Chaim Prussman with the Beth Shifra Report.

It's Country in the Country for Sunday, July 14, 2013.

In keeping with the somber spirit of Erev Tisha B'Av, Country Yossi began with one of his own songs: The title track from his CD, "These I Remember."

Next up: Dov Shurin shared the latest news from Israel.

And then there was more than a hint of suspense as the internet stream kept wanting to gai shloofen. Who knows what happened then, but from the sound of the Before and After parts, it must have been spectacular! Apologies for the podcast getting a little choppy in the middle there.

But chaos returned to sanity with a visit from  Rabbi Moshe Meir Weiss and his spiritual words.

And of course, we had a generous helping of Grand Prize Winners. And a special shout-out to Eli from Melbourne, Australia, listening on the podcast!

Just when you thought you were having a relaxing summer, Country Yossi invades The Catskills with another season of Country in the Country!

Since we're in The Three Weeks, we kicked things off with some a capella music: "Gam Ki Eilech" from The Chevra's Chevra Acapella CD.

Then Dov Shurin checked in with the latest news from Israel.

Next, the flood of information continued as Country was joined by New York City Council Candidates David Storobin and Joseph Hayon to hear about their campaign platforms.

One more bit of a capella music followed from Chevra Acapella: "Mimkomcha."

And Country was giving out Grand Prizes like they were going out of style.

It's almost enough to make you want to tune in again next week, so we'll see you then!

It's The Country Yossi Show for Monday, April 22, 2013.

Country Yossi didn't keep us waiting, starting the show by sharing his struggles with weight. Sefira continues and so did the a capella music from Kol Achai and A.K.A. Pella.

Thanks to a problem with his flight, Dov Shurin surprised us with a live in-studio visit!

As Heshy mentioned, Efrat Klein is a 25-year-old single Israeli citizen who is suffering from kidney failure and desperately needs a kidney transplant as soon as possible. She can only receive a kidney from a live donor and has been waiting for one for the past two years, separated from her family at home. Efrat's mother, Anat, who is here with her, missed her other daughter's wedding because she cannot leave Efrat's side. Efrat cannot survive long-term without a transplant and must be on dialysis every four hours.  If you have type B or type O blood, and meet certain other specific criteria, you will be a potential donor. Hi, remember us? We're The Country Yossi Show. Forgotten, but not gone. It's been a while, so let's take a moment to get reacquainted, shall we? There, that's better. As we return from a long hiatus (not long enough for some listeners), Yossi keeps Heshy in stitches with his thoughts on the latest news. Then, since we're in mid-Sefira, we're also knee-deep in a capella music, with a selection of songs from our friends Lev Tahor, A.K.A Pella, and The Chevra. In between all the music and fun, we also had to share a few sad moments with Dov Shurin. Stay tuned to find out why. Let's hope this program was the most taxing part of your Tax Day. Speaking of things that are כשר לפסח, this podcast isn't one of them. After all, it's got BEAN right in the web address, and that means it's very likely kitniyos. So, while you're breaking matzo, we'll take a two-week break, too. A Zissen Pesach to you and yours, and we'll see you after Yontif.
